Welcome to the 73rd Studentische Tagung Sprachwissenschaft (StuTS)

We are happy to welcome you to Frankfurt am Main, Germany. We are planning to hold the conference in-person from May 26 till 28, 2023.

The Call for Participation is online and we are looking forward to receiving many interesting contributions! We cordially invite all students of linguistics and related disciplines, from the Bachelor’s phase to the doctorate, to present their work. Whether it’s a term paper, a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis, or any other project you are currently working on - everything is welcome. You can decide whether you would rather present a poster or give a talk. We also welcome workshops on languages or technologies by students who would like to share their knowledge. We welcome a wide range of topics, as long as they are linguistic in nature.

The title for the talk/workshop/poster and an abstract of about 300 words can be submitted via the platform Frab. This link will take you directly to the Call for Participation: https://talks.stuts.de/en/stuts73/cfp.

Presentation slots are 20 minutes each for the talk and 5 minutes for questions. Longer slots for longer talks or workshops are also available on request (stuts73@stuts.de). If you are not presenting in English, German or French, please also provide us with a translation of the abstract into one of these languages so that we can assess the presentation*. Keep in mind that your language level must be high enough to give a scientific talk in that language and that even linguists do not speak every single language that has ever existed.

The schedule of the conference will be announced in coming weeks.

* You can hand in signed abstracts as links in the event-page for your presentation. If you want us to upload it for you, please send us the signed abstract by email in addition to handing in your talk through the submission system.

Important note: When signing up, you will need to select English as the language of your presentation. Don’t worry about this, it is caused by the system and does not have any implications. Please write the actual language of your presentation into the abstract visibly.
